For many years, First Air has graciously allowed the Law Enforcement Torch Run to use one of its planes for a plane pull. With no Hercules aircraft based in Yellowknife, the company has offered a 737 for this year’s pull. It is a friendly competition between teams of 12 individuals (men, women or mixed (min of 5 women)) who must pull together in the ultimate challenge of pulling a plane, that weighs over 65,000 lbs, a distance of 20 feet in the fastest time possible. All members of participating teams will be entered into draws for a variety of prizes including a grand prize Trip for Two to Edmonton, courtesy of First Air.
There is still time to get your team together for the pull. For information or to reserve your team spot, simply contact LETR-NT@hotmail.com, Each team must raise a minimum of $360.00 per team or $30 per participant.
The majority of the proceeds got to Special Olympics NWT for athlete programs. To donate to a team or individual, https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/startup.aspx?eventid=182638
